Get ready to meet a whole new Miley Cyrus.

The storied singer hit the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 21 to perform her new song "Malibu" for the very first time.

Introduced by her sister, fellow recording artist Noah Cyrus, and dad/country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, it didn't take long before fans realized Miley had undergone a major life change.

Dressed in a basic white crop top with puff sleeves and white denim shorts with short brown boots, it was assuredly the most toned-down we've seen from the star in years.

"Malibu," the twangy first single off Cyrus' upcoming sixth studio album, is a throwback to her country days, seemingly a marker between this new Miley and her more bizarre past work.

Her performance was emotional, the 24-year-old brought to tears as she neared the end of the song, which was written about her fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
