Any life can look incredibly glamorous from an outsider's perspective. It's easy to imagine the people we see on TV, movies, and album covers as impervious to the same battles we fight every day. In reality, even the most luxurious lives have imperfections.
According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, about eight million people (in the U.S. alone) have anorexia, bulimia, or related eating disorders. These disorders can be the product of stress, depression, unhappiness, negative body image, or abuse, and they can come out of nowhere — turned on like a switch.
It's almost impossible to overcome these disorders without support, guidance, and strength, and even then, recovery is an every day battle. These stars have proven it's possible.
